Mission District Hook Up City

  • SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (KRON) — A new COVID-19 testing and response effort began in San Francisco’s Mission District on Sunday. The rapid testing site at the 24th Street BART Plaza aims to serve the.
  • The Mission District defines the unmistakable reality of San Francisco’s quirky microclimates. When visitors experience one of the city’s signature foggy summer days, there’s always the option of heading for the Mission, just as European missionaries did when they settled here in 1776. Frankly, it’s often sunnier in the Mission.
Operated by the Mission District Historical Society, the Mission Community Archives serves as a central repository for all community records that document the social, economic, and political development of the District of Mission and the Fraser Valley Regional District Electoral Areas: I (Dewdney-Hatzic Island), J (Nicomen Island-Deroche), K (Lake Errock) and L (McConnell Creek-Hatzic Prairie).
The holdings include the records of individuals and families, arts and community organizations, clubs and local businesses and some local government. The archives also maintain a small reference collection pertaining to the history of the municipality, genealogical research, and the administration of archives.
The Community Archives also offers outreach programs designed to stimulate increased public awareness of the role and value of archives. At present, outreach activities include: guided tours of the archives to members of the public within and outside the community; exhibits to stimulate the knowledge, use and preservation of archival materials in the community; educational programs for primary, secondary and post-secondary students; information seminars and workshops on archives preservation and community history.

Property owners are responsible for payment of their annual property taxes by the penalty date to avoid a penalty, whether or not they receive a property tax notice. Contact the Finance Department if you have not received your property tax notice by the second week in June.

The Municipality has no authority to either waive or modify these penalty amounts. It is a requirement of the Local Government Act that these penalties be added. Click here for the provincial government site for more information.

Avoid the Line-ups!

During the last week before taxes are due (July 2nd) there are typically long line-ups at the Municipal Hall of people coming in to pay their taxes. Avoid the line-ups by paying your property taxes using your financial institution’s online banking or telephone banking services.

Or alternatively, mail in a post-dated cheque (dated July 2, 2021) prior to June 18, 2021.
